Noises are heard under the rubble of the 12-story building that collapsed Thursday in Surfside, near Miami, while the toll continues to stand at 4 dead and 159 missing. “Yesterday I heard a knock, there was a bit of noise,” he explained to Cnn Miami rescue team doctor, Howard Lieberman, “the noise went on for a while but then subsided.” In the morning, the rescuers who continue to dig in the rubble were joined by personnel from Israel and Mexico.

Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava says rescue officials are continuing to search and there is still hope of finding survivors in the rubble more than 24 hours after the building collapsed. Raide Jadallah is an Assistant Chief Fire Department for Miami-Dade County. It says the rescue operations have continued throughout the night and 130 firefighters are working on the site. The crews are using dogs and microphones. Miami-Dade Police Director Freddy Ramirez says authorities are working with the coroner’s office to identify the victims.
