Mexican Andrea Meza, 26, has been crowned Miss Universe. Meza, who has a degree in software engineering, beat Miss Brazil in the night. At the announcement of the victory he shouted: “Long live Mexico”.
The outgoing miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi, has trod the crown on her head. Tunzi, a PR professional, was the first black woman from South Africa to win the contest and had held the title since December 2019.
Last year’s ceremony was canceled due to the pandemic.
