Italy is increasingly linked to Algeria for gas supplies. But relying on the North African country – from which we now buy more than from Russia – does not completely protect us from risks: not even from geopolitical ones, given that Algiers is not only a faithful ally of Moscow (so much so that it has not voted on the resolution condemning the ‘UN after the invasion of Ukraine) but has also recently shown, in relations with Spain, that it does not disdain the use of energy as a weapon of pressure ….
