New Israeli bombings on the Gaza Strip: a refugee camp hit, children among the victims

by admin

In the Israeli-bombed western part of Gaza City, an entire family of 10, eight children and two women, died in the collapse of a three-story house. This was reported by the Israeli and Palestinian media. Another 15 people were injured. A five-month-old baby is the only survivor of the Abu Hatab family and according to some witnesses he was found alive under the rubble thanks to his mother who served as a shield.

This is the highest number of casualties in a single Israeli bombing since the start of the military campaign last Monday. A witness reported that the building was hit by at least three bombs. The building is adjacent to the al-Shati refugee camp and the death toll may be higher as it is still digging through the rubble.

A witness told the Associated Press that Israeli warplanes dropped at least three bombs on the multi-story house without warning its residents in advance. ā€œI saw the bodies of four people, including children, being rushed to the hospital. I couldn’t resist and ran back to my house Ā».

Four days of bombing: 126 dead
Last night, at the end of the fourth day of clashes, the number of people killed by Israeli raids in Gaza had risen to 126, including 31 children and 20 women, according to the health authorities of the Strip, quoted by the Haaretz newspaper. According to the same source, 950 people were injured in the attack, which continued in the evening.

The Israeli Defense Forces posted on their Twitter profile the video showing the bombing of the office of Hamas Internal Security Chief Tawdiq Abu Naim. According to the Israeli military, the building was used to manage Hamas’ military operations. Another video shows the bombing of three underground sites that would have been used for the launch of rockets by Hamas in the north of the Strip.

More rocket launches from the Strip, three parties also from Syria
The launches of rockets from Gaza also did not stop: the anti-missile sirens sounded last night in BĆØer Sheva, in southern Israel. Three rockets were also launched yesterday evening from Syrian territory towards the Golan Heights. One, defective, fell in Syrian territory, and the other two in the southern Golan, near the Israeli agricultural village of Ramat Magshimim. They exploded in open areas and caused no damage. This was reported by Israeli public television Kan.

The conflict, now on its fourth day, continued with no solution in sight. The Egyptian delegation, which attempts to mediate after Israel refused to negotiate until Saturday on Thursday, has appealed to the international community: press Tel Aviv for a ceasefire, to be able to negotiate with the Gaza leadership and to evacuate the wounded from the enclave.

Biden’s correspondent arrives in Tel Aviv
Hady Amr arrived in Tel Aviv, the envoy of US President John Biden, to whom Abu Mazen asked to “stop the Israeli aggression”. The UN Security Council, tomorrow, will try to take a shared position on the conflict. In Europe it is alert to possible anti-Semitic actions. A pro-Palestinian demonstration scheduled for today has been banned in Paris. Another, last night in Copenhagen, escalated into violence.
