New research finds the harm of artificial sweeteners may cause serious health problems-IT and health

by admin

According to foreign media reports, a report published in the International Journal of Molecular ScienceStudies have shown for the first time that some of the most widely used artificial sweeteners-saccharin, sucralose, and aspartame-are effective against two types of intestinal bacteria-Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis ) Pathogenic effect.

Previous studies have shown that artificial sweeteners can change the number and types of bacteria in the intestines, but this new molecular study led by scholars at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) shows that sweeteners can also make Bacteria cause disease. It found that these pathogenic bacteria can attach, invade, and kill Caco-2 cells, which are epithelial cells that line the intestinal wall.

It is well known that bacteria that pass through the intestinal wall like Enterobacter faecalis can enter the bloodstream and accumulate in the lymph nodes, liver and spleen, causing a series of infections, including sepsis.
