North Korea launches a new missile into the sea. Pyongyang to the UN: “Legitimate right to test weapons”

by admin

North Korea fired an “unidentified bullet” (a ballistic missile, according to the Japanese Ministry of Defense) into the sea off its east coast. The South Korean military reported it, just as Pyongyang was asserting its “legitimate right” to test weapons before the United Nations. No other details have yet been released by South Korea’s chiefs of staff. At the same time, North Korean Ambassador to the United Nations Kim Song said his country has a “legitimate right” to test weapons and “strengthen ( sue) defense capabilities “

“Nobody can deny our right to self-defense,” the North Korean diplomat insisted at the UN General Assembly, calling on the United States to cease its “hostile policy” towards his country. This is North Korea’s third launch this month. The first involved a long-range cruise missile and the second a short-range ballistic missile. This launch comes just days after Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, hinted at the possibility of a summit between the two Koreas, demanding in advance that Seoul abandon its “hostile politics”.
