North Korea planing supersonic rocket: “It flies at 6 thousand kilometers per hour”

by admin

North Korea has announced that it has successfully tested a planing supersonic rocket. The state media made it known. Today’s launch “demonstrated that all technical specifications met the design requirements,” the Korean Central News Agency explained, adding that it was of “great strategic significance” as North Korea seeks to increase its defense capabilities to ” one thousand times”.

The launch of the missile, named Hwasong-8, was carried out by the Academy of Defense Sciences of Toyang-ri, province of Chagang, in the north of the country, although in the absence of the North Korean leader, according to the state agency KCNA.

Despite being a technology currently underdeveloped and very few countries have them in operation, hypersonic missiles are those that technically break the sound barrier when flying at least five times – they would exceed 6,000 kilometers per hour -, which would make it impossible to intercept them.
