Pakistan, kamikaze car bomb in a hotel in Quetta: at least 4 dead and 12 injured

by admin

At least four people were killed and 12 others were injured in an explosion that took place inside the parking lot of a luxury hotel in Quetta, Pakistan. This was reported by local media who tell how the first investigations suggest that the explosive material was placed inside a vehicle, then involving numerous cars.
Among the guests of the Serena Hotel, the only four-star hotel in the city, were the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan and his delegation, but at the time of the explosion they were not in the complex. The spokesman for the governor of Baluchistan spoke openly of the terrorist attack, claiming that the Chinese ambassador was the likely target. The explosion was then claimed by Tehrik and Taliban Pakistan (TTP) with a message that reads: “One of our militants carried out the suicide attack”. The Federal Minister of the Interior admitted a flaw in the security system that allowed the vehicle to enter the parking lot.

This is the group that in recent weeks had animated the violent protests against French President Emmanuel Macron, guilty of having defended the caricatures of Muhammad that appeared in Charlie Hebdo. According to a senior police officer, Azhar Akram, some of the injured are in critical condition.
