In the history manuals on the Second World War there is a battle that few know, but that the allies remember as a nightmare: Ortona, “the miniature Stalingrad”. The Canadian infantrymen entered the streets of the Abruzzo town, ending up in a trap. The German paràs had transformed the palaces into fortresses and it was a massacre: nearly two thousand were killed or wounded.
