A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.7 shook Mindoro, in the Philippines, south of Manila. This was found by the US seismological institute, the US Geological Survey, which monitors the earth’s seismic activity. No injuries have been reported so far. According to data also reported by the local press, the epicenter is located in the city of Calatagan, in the province of Batangas, at a depth of 140 km. The quake was also felt in some areas of the capital. The first quake was followed a few minutes later by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in the same region. Given the depth, authorities said they expected no damage. Some residents in the capital region were awakened by the earthquake that lasted almost a minute.
