That day coincided with the “Eastern Peace Prayer Day”, the Pope invited all faithful to pray for the mercy of God for peace in the Middle East.
The Pope said: “May the Lord support all efforts made for dialogue and brotherhood in the Middle East, where the Christian faith was born. Despite suffering, Christianity still exists. May the Lord always bestow upon those lovely people Fortitude, perseverance and courage.”
