Portugal case: this is why the country with the most vaccinations in Europe imposes new anti-Covid restrictions

They called it “week of containment”. It will not be a new lockdown, but it is still a very hard – and surprising, given that we are talking about the country with the highest rate of vaccinated in Europe – the one decided by the Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa for the days from 2 to 9 January next: mandatory smart working, closed discos, extended Christmas holidays for all pupils (schools will reopen on 10 January), mandatory use of a mask in all closed spaces.
