Provide a list of personnel for the smooth evacuation of the U.S. to the Taliban in Afghanistan
CCTV News reported on August 26, local time, US officials told the media that the US provided the Afghan Taliban with a list of US citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies to allow these people to enter the outskirts of Kabul Airport. US officials stated that the purpose of providing the Afghan Taliban with this list is to expedite the safe evacuation of tens of thousands of people from Afghanistan. However, this approach has aroused suspicion and anger from some parliamentarians and military officials.
At the press conference that day, when someone asked about this list, Biden said that he was not sure there was such a list, but he did not deny whether the US would provide such a list to the Taliban.
He stated at the press conference that the United States had contacted the Taliban’s military counterparts and asked them to pass certain vehicles and informed them of specific information such as the number of people on board and the composition of the personnel. The Taliban also cooperated to release these vehicles.
On August 26, local time, a U.S. official revealed to the media that the number of U.S. soldiers killed in the bombing attack outside Kabul Airport in Afghanistan has risen to 13.
