ALGHERO. “We will return to Alghero as free citizens of a Republic, in a Europe that is more democratic and more united in fundamental rights”. This was stated by the former president of the Catalan Generalitat, Carles Puigdemont, during the meeting with the mayor of Alghero Mario Conoci.
“Long live Alghero and long free Catalonia – he said – I write these words with immense honor and infinite emotion in the book of the beloved city of Alghero”. Puigdemont underlined his appreciation “for the solidarity shown by the city for the democratic junta of Catalonia and for its freedom”.
Tonight at 7 pm the Catalan MEP will hold a press conference together with the lawyer Gonzalo Boye and his head of cabinet, Josep Lluís Alay. The event will be held in the premises of the former civic market.
