PARIS – The first exit polls on the French regional elections see the Gaullists of Les Républicains ahead, with 29% according to the Ipsos institute, followed by the Rassemblement National of Marine Le Pen, at 18.5%, and by the Socialists at 18%. The block of ecological parties is given to 12% while the president’s La République en Marche Emmanuel Macron it stops at 10% in coalition with Modem, the same percentage collected by the radical left of France Insoumise.

The vote therefore confirms the scarce ability of En Marche to take root in the territories. The left-wing bloc has collected 34.3% of the votes on the basis of the exit polls, the lists of republicans and their allies, 29.3%, behind remains the far right that does not break through, with 19.1 %. At 8 pm, the participation rate was only 32.8%, while the abstention rate stood at 67.2%: historical levels, according to the first estimates of the Elabe institute for Bfmtv.
