China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chairman Ren Hongbin said at the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit on the 18th that the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), on behalf of the industrial and commercial circles attending the meeting, issued the “Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit Beijing Initiative”. The “Initiative” is a broad consensus reached by domestic and foreign business circles through serious exchanges and discussions. It mainly includes the following contents:
First, the global business community should further boost their confidence and determination to defeat the epidemic, deepen cooperation in the field of health care, jointly promote the fair distribution of key medical supplies such as vaccines on a global scale, and oppose the politicization of the epidemic.
The second is to practice genuine multilateralism, jointly safeguard the multilateral trading system with the WTO at its core, promote policy coordination among governments, promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and effectively ensure the safety, stability and smoothness of industrial and supply chains.
The third is to actively promote global development, gather the strength of the business community, and strive to bridge the North-South gap, recovery differentiation, development gaps and technological gaps, promote balanced global development, and allow people of all countries to share the fruits of economic globalization and world economic growth.
Fourth, adhere to the innovation-driven approach, give full play to the key role of technology and innovation in global development, and drive the development of new technologies, new products, and new formats through digital, networked, and intelligent transformation and integration, so that scientific and technological civilization can benefit people of all countries.
The fifth is to jointly promote green, low-carbon and sustainable development, promote the green upgrade of the economy, energy and industrial structure, develop a circular economy, jointly help developing countries improve their ability to cope with climate change, and strive to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
