Republican aides to the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs drafted an internal memo that stated that certain standard procedures for refugees, such as interviews and document verification, were skipped or postponed. The Wall Street Journal reviewed the memo, which was prepared before Biden administration officials gave a closed-door briefing to committee members. The memo says that those without written documents or identifying biometrics or personal information are allowed to provide their names and dates of birth when entering the US government tracking system, which is another source of concern.
