The Energy Regulatory Commission of Republika Srpska, in accordance with its competences, and at the initiative of “Elektroprivreda Republika Srpska” adopted the Decision on tariff rates for users of distribution systems and the decision on tariff rates for public supply, some of whose articles were declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court.

Regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republika Srpska, the Regulatory Commission for Energy of the Republika Srpska says that they will apply the judgment of this court and propose new measures and decisions.

“Without going into the essence of the verdict, nor with the desire to comment on it, we must state that due to this decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Srpska and the abolition of block tariffs, the price of electricity will be increased by almost 80 percent of the population. Certain members of the decision of the Regulatory Commission, which was contested by the Constitutional Court with its decision yesterday, were precisely intended to protect customers with lower consumption and lower standards.” it was stated in the announcement, reports Srna.

The Regulatory Commission for Energy of the Republika Srpska has not yet received the verdict of the Constitutional Court of the Republika Srpska, and until it receives the written version of the verdict, it will not make any further statements.
