With the final score of 1-0 at Arena de Pernambuco, Fênix de Camaragibe achieved an important victory against Timbu in the competition, overtaking their opponent in the leaderboard (in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively). The only goal of the match was scored by Giva, in the second half. With the victory, the Azulina team came very close to guaranteeing a direct place in the semifinals of Pernambucano and in Series D of the 2025 Brazilian Championship.

With the positive result, Fênix de Camaragibe took second place in the competition, reaching 17 points. In the last round of the State Championship, Retrô will face Flamengo de Arcoverde, next Saturday (24), at 4:30 pm, in Arruda.

On the same day and time, Náutico faces Sport, in the Classic of Classics, in Aflitos. Timbu, in turn, fell to third place and will have to overcome Fênix, on goal difference in the last round (9×7). It’s worth remembering that beforehand, Timbu visits Vitória, this Wednesday (21st), at 7pm, at Barradão, for the Copa do Nordeste.

The game

Náutico didn’t want to wait and went after Retrô in the first minutes of the game. At six, from a corner kick, Rafael Vaz hit the first post, the ball fell to Marcos Júnior who kicked free and almost opened the scoring in the match. With an exciting start, in the ninth minute, in a good plot Paulo Sérgio received it from Marcos Junior and finished for a calm save by Paulo Ricardo.

The Fênix de Camaragibe, little by little, was released on the field. And he had two opportunities, the first with Radsley who finished wide. The second was with Giva, who was blocked by the red and white defense. Despite a short moment of instability, Timbu continued to control the main actions of the match. The best opportunity fell at the feet of defender Rafael Vaz, after a hit and run, the ball fell to the defender, who “punched” the ball. Afterwards, Kauan finished strongly, but the Azuline defense managed to save it on the line. Despite the best chances in the first stage, Timbu didn’t know how to convert the ball into the net.

In the second half, coach Roberto Fernandes bet on two changes to Fênix: Moisés Ribeiro and Israel left, Rômulo and Gustavinho entered. At seven, after an error with the white-and-white ball, Radsley gave a great assist to Giva, who received it inside the area and hit it with no chance of defense for Vagner, opening the scoring at Arena de Pernambuco.

After opening the scoring, Náutico launched themselves into the attacking field, but encountered numerous passing errors. Timbu showed clear signs of having felt the goal conceded in the match. Despite having greater possession of the ball, Alvirrubro continued to attack in a disorderly manner, without creating great opportunities. Without wasting any power to react, Náutico were defeated at the Arena de Pernambuco. On the other hand, Retrô came close to securing a place in the semifinals of Pernambucano and in Série D 2025.
