Last night Palestinian militants in southern Lebanon fired six rudimentary rockets towards the Israeli border. The bombs did not reach the territory of Israel but the artillery fired some shots towards the place of the launch. The Israeli armed forces have ruled out that the Shiite Hezbollah group is behind it. A few days ago Palestinians from a refugee camp near Tire had launched three rockets, which however fell into the sea. The Shiite Party of God yesterday organized a demonstration of solidarity with the Palestinians of the “resistance” in Beirut, but does not want to be involved in the conflict.
On the southern front, Hamas has still launched missiles towards the border towns, without causing victims or injuries. The air force carried out new, but less intense, raids against tunnels and homes of Palestinian militants. Goals are scarce. At the beginning of the operation, four fighters for each civilian were killed, now the ratio is one to one.
The humanitarian situation is increasingly worrying Europe and the United States. Last night, President Joe Biden called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reiterated that “Israel has the right to defend itself”, but also insisted on a truce as soon as possible. The Israeli military said this morning that the attacks will continue “in the next twelve hours”. Afterwards we do not know.
