Russia: Navalny organizations designated as “extremist”

by admin

Moscow – On Wednesday, Russian justice designated organizations headed by detained opponent Aleksei Navalny as “extremist”. A representative of the prosecution, Alexei Jafiarov, told reporters.

The measure allows for the liquidation of these organizations and greater crackdown on its supporters ahead of the legislative elections in September. “It was recognized that these organizations not only voluntarily disseminated information inciting hatred and hostility towards representatives of power, but also committed extremist crimes and offenses,” Jafiarov said.
