The former Catalan president, Carles Puigdemont, was arrested in Alghero, Sardinia, in application of the arrest warrant issued by Pablo Llarena, judge of the Spanish Supreme Court. The Spanish newspaper Abc learned this from judicial sources, according to which the Italian authorities have already notified the arrest to the magistracy of Madrid. According to El Pais, Puigdemont was in Italy to attend an event in Alghero.
