Sturla Holm Lægreid won in Holmenkollen after perfect shooting – Dagsavisen

The runner from Bærum took advantage of Tarjei Bø’s miss on the last shot and beat his teammate by 28.5 seconds. He lost a lot of time towards the end after the fourth shooting, but held on.

Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen also came on the podium. Like Bø, he incurred a sour additional minute in the last shooting and fought a tough battle to take 3rd place.

It barely went down to France’s Éric Perrot by a margin of eight tenths.

Felt like an animal

The super race showed again that Lægreid is in very good shape. He recently won the sprint gold in the Biathlon World Cup in the Czech Republic.

– Today it felt so easy to shoot a full house. I thought it had been a long time since I had shot 20 out of 20, so now was the time. On the trail I felt like an animal, and it was a joy to ski, Lægreid told NRK after taking his twelfth victory in the World Cup.

Bø had his first Kollen victory since 2013 before he missed on the very last shot.

– I’m mostly disappointed right now, but I’m smiling at the same time. It’s such a weird feeling because it was so good. I missed and was too late for the trigger. You can’t notice it until it’s too late, and then it just didn’t work, Bø told NRK.

Norwegian dominance

Johannes Thingnes Bø came to the start after a fantastic WC (three individual golds), but two additional minutes cost him a place on the podium. He finished fifth and was beaten by 1.14.9 minutes.

Norway had all six of its runners in the top ten. Endre Strømsheim (one miss) took 7th place, while Johannes Dale-Skjevdal (two misses) ended up three notches further down the list.

Fog threatened Friday’s Kollen race, but the weather cleared in time and offered good shooting conditions. In the women’s race, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold won at home.

A joint start is on the program on Saturday.
