Taiwan 8/4 adds 20 local confirmed cases and 0 deaths | Central Epidemic Command Center | Chinese Communist Pneumonia

[Epoch Times, August 4, 2021]Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (4th) 21 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 (Chinese communist pneumonia) in China, including 20 local and 1 overseas immigration; There were no new deaths among the confirmed cases.

According to the command center, today’s 20 new local cases (16 of which were tested positive during home quarantine or at the expiration date) are 9 males and 11 females, aged in their 20s to 70s. The date of onset Between July 24 and August 3 this year. The distribution of cases is 14 in New Taipei City, followed by 5 in Taipei and 1 in Taoyuan; 16 of them are known sources of infection, and 4 cases are unknown. Epidemic investigations will continue to clarify the source of infection.

The command center pointed out that recently confirmed cases were released from quarantine. Of the 14,503 confirmed cases announced from May 11 to August 2, 12,957 have been released from quarantine, and 89.3% of the confirmed cases have been released.

The command center stated that there is one newly added case of overseas immigration today (Case 15850), a Japanese woman in her 10s who came to Taiwan from Japan to study on August 2 with a negative test report within 3 days before the flight, and took the test at the airport. Later, he went to the epidemic prevention hotel for home quarantine and was diagnosed today; the case did not have symptoms while in Taiwan, and the relevant contacts were listed.

According to the statistics of the command center, so far, there have been a total of 2,128,419 notifications related to novel coronavirus pneumonia (Chinese Communist pneumonia) in China (including 2,111,269 cases excluded), of which 15,742 cases were confirmed, 1,275 cases of overseas immigration, 14,414 local cases, 36 cases of Dunmu fleet, and 2 cases. Aircraft infection, 1 unknown case and 14 cases are under investigation; there are no new cases of empty numbers, and a total of 108 cases have been removed as empty numbers. A total of 791 cases of COVID-19 (Chinese Communist pneumonia) deaths have been accumulated since 2020, of which 783 are local. The counties and cities of residence are 393 in New Taipei City, 297 in Taipei City, 27 in Keelung City, 24 in Taoyuan City, and 14 in Changhua County. There are 11 cases in Hsinchu County, 4 cases in Taichung City, 3 cases in Miaoli County, 2 cases each in Yilan County and Hualien County, and 1 case each in Taitung County, Yunlin County, Tainan City, Nantou County, Kaohsiung City and Pingtung County; The other 8 cases were overseas immigration.
