Taiwan, a new commercial initiative for ever closer relations with the US

BEIJING – It’s called the “United States-Taiwan 21st Century Trade Initiative” and will certainly add another piece to the clash between Washington and Beijing. It will serve to develop “an ambitious road map”, say the Americans, for negotiations in sectors ranging from agriculture to digital trade and climate. Objective: “To develop concrete ways to deepen economic and trade relations”.
