A 6.2 magnitude quake was recorded in Taiwan, 62 kilometers north of Hualien. This was reported by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (Emsc), according to which the earthquake occurred at a depth of 40 kilometers.

From the surveys, there were also other tremors: one of magnitude 4.5 which preceded the strongest by about 30 minutes, and one immediately after the first, of magnitude 5.4. A 4.5 magnitude earthquake was also recorded yesterday.

Residents said the quake was also strongly felt in the capital, Taipei. Images of shops and supermarkets with products thrown to the ground by the shock are starting to circulate on social networks, but for now there is no information of significant damage or injuries.
