Teresa Mannino makes Gianni Morandi sing, ovation for ‘There was a boy’

by admin

(beraking latest news) – “Tonight I have to do everything I haven’t done in my whole life. I want to sing in Sanremo.” Teresa Mannino’s second entry is in an emerald green total look with animalier shades. Waiting for her on the Sanremo 2024 stage are Amadeus and Gianni Morandi, guest of the festival: “Do you know one of my songs?” asks Morandi. “I know them all. But the one I love most, and we need it right now, is ‘There was a boy who loved the Beatles and the Rolling Stones like me'”, says Mannino speaking of the song about an American boy who has to abandon his dream and his trip to Europe to go and fight in Vietnam, where he was killed.

Thus Teresa Mannino realizes her dream by mentioning the incipit of the song which has become an anti-militarist anthem, then leaves the scene to Morandi, who sings and obtains an ovation from the Ariston.
