Securities Times reported that according to CCTV News citing Indian media reports on the 4th, Indian official statistics show that the cumulative number of mucormycosis cases in India has exceeded 20,000 so far. The continuous increase in the number of cases of mucormycosis has also led to a shortage of related medicines for the treatment of the disease. The Indian government has recently been adopting measures such as stepping up domestic production and importing related drugs from abroad to meet current challenges. Indian health experts call mucormycosis an “epidemic disease”. Its symptoms include headaches, nosebleeds, hemoptysis, facial numbness and swelling, blurred vision, and difficulty breathing, with a high fatality rate.
