The Democratic Party proposes eight strategies to fight the epidemic and calls for changes in detection strategies-8world

The Singapore Democratic Party has proposed eight major strategies to “end” the COVID-19 pandemic, including calling for changes in testing strategies and no longer testing asymptomatic vaccinated people.

The plan announced by the Democratic Party on its website was drafted by the Democratic Party’s health care team. The ten team members include Professor Paul Tambyah, President of the Asia-Pacific Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, psychiatrist Dr. Doctors and general surgeons.

The Democratic Party proposes to stop testing asymptomatic vaccinated people outside of tracking work and focus resources on those who need it most, such as infected elderly and vulnerable groups.

The team also recommends that those who test positive for coronary disease should go to the nearest public health preparedness clinic (Public Health Preparedness Clinic, referred to as PHPC), and the doctor will assess whether they need to be hospitalized or just under observation, just like dealing with urinary tract infections or The practice of food poisoning and other diseases.

Set up a dedicated ambulance hotline

In order to ease the pressure on the hospital, the team also recommends that patients in stable conditions be admitted to nursing homes and checked by general practitioners to determine when they need to be hospitalized; these patients must be separated from uninfected patients.

In addition, the team recommends that the authorities set up a special ambulance hotline for people who test positive or are identified as contacts. Once the pulse oximeter shows that they are experiencing hypoxia, they can be sent to hospital quickly. The Democratic Party stated that this is similar to what it did during the SARS period.

The team also believes that the authorities should publish reports of positive tests and all infected groups on a regular basis, like dengue fever epidemic reports, so that the public will seek medical attention if they develop symptoms after visiting these areas.

Targeted interventions

As for intervention measures, the team recommends that the authorities adopt targeted measures rather than comprehensive closures and restrictions, which is like closing down the relevant physical buildings or facilities when food poisoning occurs or a nursery has an outbreak of hand-foot-mouth disease.

The Democratic Party pointed out that Singapore’s “lack of a clear strategy” in response to the pandemic prevented companies from planning ahead. The government’s “passivity” in handling the epidemic has also led to intermittent policies, which have a negative impact on employers and employees.

In the last recommendation, the team believes that all vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be “randomized clinical trials with rapid adaptive design” to study whether they are suitable as supplementary or main agents.

“These vaccines should be put into use quickly and funded. The same approach should be adopted for other preventive drugs that show promise in early randomized trials.”

The Democratic Party pointed out that the proposed measures will provide society with a “more reliable and predictable way of dealing with pandemics.”
