The EU Commission presents the proposal for the introduction of a universal charger

by admin

The EU Commission will tomorrow present a legislative proposal for the introduction of a universal charger for all mobile devices. This was reported by sources close to the dossier. Brussels requires all manufacturers to use a common USB-C charging point and to make charging software protocols interoperable between brands. Under the proposal, Apple is expected to modify its current Lightning cable system.

With a view to reducing electronic waste, companies should also stop selling new chargers for each device by giving consumers the option to use their old cables.
