Securities Times.com, according to CCTV news, on the 13th local time, the European Commission put forward a number of recommended measures to cope with soaring energy prices, including promoting the joint purchase of natural gas by EU member states. The European Commission also confirmed that on the same day, some EU member states previously adopted measures such as tax cuts or subsidies to the public in response to the increase in electricity and natural gas prices are permitted by EU law. It is reported that the leaders of the 27 EU countries will focus on the issue of rising energy prices at a summit to be held later this month, and will discuss the response measures proposed by the European Commission.
