One million euros a day: this is the fine imposed by the European Court of Justice on Poland for not having yet abolished the Disciplinary Commission of Judges, a sort of Inquisition headed by the Supreme Court, controlled by the government and with the power to expel the togates. “Compliance with the precautionary measures ordered on 14 July 2021 is necessary in order to avoid serious and irreparable damage to the legal order of the European Union and to the values on which that Union is founded, in particular that of the rule of law”, reads a note from the EU Court.
