Taliban control

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Brinken warned that the Taliban’s military control of Afghanistan would turn the country into a pariah country and deprive the country of international support.

In a statement to the US channel “MSNBC”, the US Secretary of State expressed US concern about the Taliban’s attempt to control Afghanistan by force, and emphasized that the US will face any danger that poses a threat.

Brinken stated that his country is committed to Afghanistan not becoming a training ground for terrorists, and emphasized that his country is involved in diplomatic efforts. In addition, he added that there is no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan.

Condemned the U.S. attack

On the other hand, the Taliban condemned the US attack on its fighters on Wednesday and made them bear the consequences, and believed that the attack was a clear violation of the Doha Agreement.

The Taliban emphasized that the U.S. forces carried out air strikes against the Taliban in Kandahar and Helmand provinces (southern Afghanistan).

At the same time, the Taliban believes that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s announcement of plans to launch major operations against the Taliban in the next few months is a military escalation, and believes that the Kabul government must bear the consequences.

The Taliban emphasized that they will fully defend the area under their control and will choose an offensive strategy for this purpose rather than a defensive strategy.

On the other hand, the Afghan Ministry of Defense denies the Taliban’s claims and denies the Taliban’s claim that it controls 90% of borders with neighboring countries, and believes these claims are completely untrue.

The Afghan Ministry of Defense added that government forces exercise control over the border, and the Taliban’s statement in this regard is a complete lie.

Taliban and Ghani

In this context, Mohamed Naim, a spokesman for the Taliban’s political office, denied that the Taliban had not requested the resignation of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani as a condition for the ceasefire.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Mohamed Naim stated that some media had misinterpreted the statement made by the spokesperson of the Taliban in Afghanistan, Mohamed Suhail Shahin.

The media earlier quoted Shaheen as reporting that the Taliban had no intention of monopolizing power and denied that the Taliban planned to launch an attack on Kabul.

The media quoted Shaheen as saying that there will be no peace in Afghanistan until President Ghani is fired and a new government acceptable to all Afghans is formed.
