In this week’s MONDO linguist, we deal with words in the Serbian language that are difficult to pronounce and that we often mispronounce.

It comes from the German language, it came from the name of a valley near Dusseldorf, it means the fossil remains of a proto-man but also a primitive, neo-Tessian.

2. Delinquent

The word comes from the Latin language and means an offender, a criminal.

3. Continuing education

The word is Serbian, it means to continue your education or supplement it with professional training.

4. To protest

This word comes indirectly from the German language, meaning to oppose, as well as from the Latin to testify.

5. Stage

To happen, to perform something. It comes from the German language and its pronunciation is made difficult by the letter n, which is usually dropped.
