The photo-icon of Tiananmen disappears from the Microsoft search engine: “Human error”

“No results for the tank man.” So says Bing when a search request is typed. The iconic photo of the Tiananmen Square repression, that of the student standing in front of the tanks and blocking their advance, has disappeared from the Bing search engine, both inside and outside China.

Microsoft, which runs Bing, says through a spokesperson that the disappearance “is due to human error”, adding that it is trying to remedy the problem.
