The Polish Organization for the Promotion of Life initiated an operation to ring the bells for unborn babies and sent two bells to churches in Ukraine and Ecuador. Pope Francis blessed the two bells before the public reception.

(Vatican News NetworkThe chime reminds people to remember the value of life from conception to natural death. It is the voice of babies who will never be born, and warns of a selfish and absent-minded world. To this end, a bell ringing operation was launched in Poland, entitled “The Voice of the Unborn”, which was later spread to other countries. Pope Francis blessed two bells before the public reception on October 27, and they will be shipped to Ecuador and Ukraine.

The Pope mentioned this in his greetings to Polish pilgrims. He said: “For these countries and for all people, this should become a symbol of commitment, so as to promote actions to safeguard people’s life from conception to natural death. May the ringing bell announce the’Gospel of Life’ to the world. ‘To awaken people’s conscience and remember the unborn. I ask you to pray for every child who is conceived. Their lives are sacred and inviolable. I sincerely wish you all.”

“The Voice of the Unborn” is an action initiated by the “Promoting Life” Foundation of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Poland, which is dedicated to safeguarding the lives of the unborn. Inscribed on their bronze bell is a saying by Jerzy Popiełuszko: “A child’s life begins in the mother’s heart”, and the other is the fifth commandment of the Ten Commandments: “Don’t kill.”
