by admin

The plane with Pope Francis on board landed in Budapest. The Pontiff is greeted by the Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen at the foot of the staircase while two children in traditional dress offered him flowers. Bergoglio’s first appointment is in the Museum of Fine Arts, where at 8.45 he will meet President János Áder and Prime Minister Viktor Orban together with the Secretary of State and the Secretary for Relations with States of the Vatican, Cardinals Pietro Parolin and Paul Gallagher. In the same place, at 9.15 am, he will meet the bishops of the country, to whom he will address a speech.

Then, it will see representatives of the Ecumenical Council of Churches and some Jewish communities of Hungary. At 11.30, the Pope will move to Heroes’ Square to conclude the Eucharistic Congress with a solemn mass and the recitation of the Angelus. Then he will transfer to the airport for the farewell ceremony. In the afternoon, at 3.30 pm, he will land in Bratislava, welcomed at the airport by the President of the Republic Zuzana Caputová and at 4.30 pm, in the Nunciature, he will have an ecumenical meeting before and, in private, with the Jesuits.
