During this working visit, the President also presided over the completion and opening ceremony of the Balikpapan-Samboga road section connecting the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road. In general, the Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road is 97.99 kilometers long and is divided into five sections, namely Balikpapan Section 5 (13 kilometers)-Xuepinggan (11.09 kilometers) Section, Balikpapan Section Section 1 (13 kilometers)-Samboja (Km 13), with a total length of 22.03 Km), Samboja-Muara Jawa (Muara Jawa) Section 2 (30.98 Km), Java estuary Muara Jawa-Pa Section 3 (17.30 Km) of the Palaran section and section 4 (16.59 Km) of the Palaran-Samarinda section.
There are 4 toll stations on the Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road, namely GT Manggar, GT Karang Joang, GT Samboja and GT Palaran toll stations. In addition, this toll road is also equipped with two A-level rest areas. The rest stops at 37 kilometers in the direction of Balikpapan and 36 kilometers in the direction of Samarinda have been completed and will be operated by Jasa Marga’s subsidiary PT Jasamarga. With the opening of the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road, it will promote the interconnection of the two commercial and economically active cities of Balikpapan and Samarinda, complement each other, develop industrial zones, and accelerate the opening of the core area of the National Capital Region ( IKN).
