According to the Kazakhstan National Public Health Center, as of the 10th, the capital city of Nur-Sultan is the “red zone” of the epidemic risk level, and Almaty, Atyrau, Akmola, Sikha, Karaganda and Pavlodar Oblast is the “yellow zone” of epidemic risk, and other areas are the “green zone”.
On the 10th, Prime Minister Ma Ming of Kazakhstan stated at a regular government work meeting that the epidemic situation in Kazakhstan has improved and the economy has entered a stage of recovery. Ma Ming instructed local governments and the Ministry of Health to speed up summer vaccination rates, especially in Mangystau State, Akmola State, Costa Nay State and Nur-Sultan City. Ma Ming emphasized that state governors and mayors of municipalities directly under the Central Government should strengthen supervision and management of vaccination work.
In addition, in response to the epidemic situation in the capital, Nur-Sultan City’s Chief Health Physician Salhati Besenova stated at the municipal government’s press conference to respond to the epidemic that the vaccination rate in the city has declined in the past month. The number of vaccinations dropped by 46% from the previous month. The number of people who had received the new crown vaccine accounted for 9.4% of the total population, and those who received the first dose of the vaccine accounted for 14.3%.
