The terror of women: “They go around the houses with the names of those who helped Westerners”

After taking Kabul, the Taliban went on television to promise that there would be no retaliation against those who worked for Westerners. They posted photos of girls going to school on their social media channels and assured them that they will respect women’s rights, but “within the framework of sharia law”. They are Sunni ultra-conservatives, but these days they have allowed Shiites to celebrate the Ashura festival.
