Turkey’s intelligence services allegedly thwarted an attack on Turkish President Recei Tayyip Erdogan. According to what the newspaper reports Nationality, a team of the security service intercepted and neutralized a bomb placed under a police car that was accompanying the head of state on a visit to the southern city of Mardin.

The operation, local authorities say, was triggered in the morning – before Erdogan’s visit began – but was only announced in the afternoon to “not create alarm”. The investigators are working to verify the presence of fingerprints on the device and view the images acquired by the security cameras near the parking lot.
