U.SState CouncilThe Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education issued a joint statement on July 26, local time, promising to take measures to promote international students to study in the United States and encourage global scholars to come to the United States to participate in academic exchanges.
Major U.S. media reported that the joint statement called “A Renewed US Commitment to International Education” (A Renewed US Commitment to International Education) was aimed at a series of exclusionary policies for international students during the Trump era. Due to some policies during the Trump era, in the 2019-2020 academic year, the number of international students in U.S. higher education institutions has declined slightly. Reasons such as high tuition fees and difficulty in employment have reduced the enthusiasm of international students to study in the United States.
