Throw away fake TNI plates, hide cars

The police uncovered a cunning ploy by an arrogant Fortuner driver who claimed to be the general’s younger brother to ‘escape’ from trouble. Apart from throwing away the fake TNI plates, the man with the initials PWGA also hid his vehicle so it would not be easily found.

According to police information, after it went viral and became a topic of discussion for many people, PWGA immediately thought and looked for ways to get out of trouble. He then received advice from his brother to throw away the fake TNI plates in Bandung, West Java.

“Then there was a commotion on the viral street, he called another relative, then the relative instructed him to throw away the number plate. Later we will look for it (the plate), throw it in Bandung,” said Head of Sub-Directorate for Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Titus Yudho Ully to detikcom, quoted Thursday (18/4).

Titus Yudho emphasized that the perpetrator was wearing a fake TNI service plate because the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section was being implemented odd-even at that time.

“Because his plate was odd, he took the initiative to change his plate to an official plate,” he said.

After it went viral because it was involved in a fight, PWGA did not immediately go home, but hid at his brother’s house located in Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta.

PWGA was arrested while at his brother’s house. During the arrest, police found his car at the location, but hidden and covered with a tarpaulin.

“When we arrived and after we found out where he was, we went and carried out an investigation. There was a car that was covered like a car tarpaulin. We opened it, the car had been changed to a normal number plate, but the color was black like the one in the video,” said Kanit 2 Subdit Resmob Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya, Kompol Anggi Fauzi Hasibuan, quoted from Detik news.

PWGA has used expired TNI plates since 2023 four times. Now, PWGA has been named a suspect. He was charged with Article 263 of the Criminal Code regarding forgery of documents.
