Title and world record for Femke Bol in 400m

Femke Bol hit hard on Saturday evening in Glasgow.

The Dutchwoman, who trains under the guidance of Friborg coach Laurent Meuwly, beat her own world record in the 400m indoor to claim her first indoor world title. She ran in 49”17.

Leading from start to finish of the two laps, Femke Bol (24) beat her compatriot and friend Lieke Klaver (50”16) and the American Alexis Holmes (50”24). The 2023 world champion in the 400m hurdles had already improved her world record in the 400m indoors in mid-February during the Dutch championships (49”24).

Impressively relaxed as usual, the Dutchwoman took off like a bomb and took the lead without ever being worried. She has now won in all major international championships (Europe and world, indoor and outdoor) with the exception of the Olympic Games.
