From the fight against Covid, to the production of vaccines for a more extensive distribution at a global level, extending to issues ranging from relaunch policies and the protection of forests in the world for which the allocation of one billion euros is foreseen. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, speaks at the press conference ahead of the G20 summit and the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP26). “The European Union will produce 3.5 billion doses of the Covid vaccine in 2022 and a large part of these will be destined abroad,” he says. And the goal is to stem and defeat the pandemic. Von der Leyen recalled that “the EU has kept its promise to export half of the doses abroad”.
One billion for forests around the world
