Donald Trump, after launching “Truth Social”, his new social platform, aims to launch an on-demand video streaming service to “compete with programming created by Big Tech and Big Media”.
This was announced by the Trump Media & Technology Group denouncing the “censorship” and “corruption” of social media. “This new era of censorship is a disaster for our country,” says Trump, explaining that in the light of this problem, he “realized that to restore freedom of expression, it is necessary to enter the market of a new large platform”. It is a Big Tent in which “exponents of all parties will be invited and there will be no algorithms or political manipulation”.
Various controversies have already arisen about the birth of his social network. Trump allegedly used the source code of the Mastodon open platform, a reality that was born in 2016 in Germany. Mastodon then confirmed on Twitter that “Truth Social” is using his software.
