The suspension of Parliament was denounced as a “coup” by both legal experts and opponents of the president, in particular the Islamist party Ennahda, the main parliamentary force in a country hit by months of political stalemate and an alarming advance. of Covid-19.

After the measures, President Saied did not nominate a new government or present his “road map”, as requested by political parties and civil society organizations.
