by admin

ISTANBUL. Turkish military analyst Metin Gurcan, arrested last week by the police from his home in Istanbul, is accused by local magistrates of “political and military espionage” for some strategic analyzes provided to Italian and Spanish diplomats in Ankara. Local media reported this, citing the testimony to the judges of Gurcan, who allegedly confirmed that he had drawn up studies for foreign embassies in exchange for money but always on the basis of information known to the public, thus without revealing military secrets. The analyst is one of the founders of the Deva party, in opposition to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
