China News Service, July 24. According to Agence France-Presse, France pointed out on the 23rd that it had killed two senior leaders of Mali’s “Islamic State of Greater Sahara” in a coordinated raid with US forces.

French Defense Minister Pali stated that the operation was launched late at night from the 21st to the 22nd to conduct a raid on a camp in the Menaka region of the West African country.

Pali pointed out that Issa al-Sahraoui (Issa al-Sahraoui) who was killed was involved in the December 2019 attack in western Niger, which killed 71 Nigerian soldiers.

Pali added that the order to strike at the camps of the two senior leaders of extremist organizations was issued “in a very short period of time” based on intelligence.

The French Ministry of National Defense stated that the attack demonstrated France’s “determination to continue to combat armed terrorist organizations.”
