On December 26, the Philippine National Disaster Reduction Commission issued a briefing stating that “Rey” had caused at least 378 deaths in the Philippines, another 60 people were missing, and 742 people were injured.
According to data from the Disaster Reduction Commission, the number of people affected by Typhoon Rey in the Philippines rose to 3.95 million, and there are still 540,000 people stranded in shelters. 131 towns are still in a state of power outages, 257 towns are in a state of communication outages, and water supply in 17 towns has not been restored. There were more than 470,000 houses damaged to varying degrees across the country, and a total of 205 damages to infrastructure such as roads and hospitals, and nearly 80,000 hectares of crops were destroyed by typhoons. The economic loss exceeded 20.4 billion Philippine pesos, or about 2.59 billion yuan.
